Deborah Austin Obituary

Deborah Kay Key Austin, 68 of Mount Airy, NC, passed away on February 1, 2026 at her daughter’s home in Mount Airy.  She was born in Galax, Virginia on September 13, 1957.  She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Key; mother, Emma LeFalene Kemp; and husband, Nallie Alexander Austin, Jr.

Survivors include her children, Brittany Diaz, Sheila Lopez, and Jason Austin, all of Mount Airy, NC; siblings, Bernita Harris of Mt. Airy, Kenneth Harris of Richmond, Dreama Stump (Pete) of Hillsville, Patsy Black of Tennessee, David Kemp of Hillsville, Shirley Kemp of Hillsville, Linda Branscome (Donnie) of Hillsville, and C.W. Kemp (Tina) of Hillsville; eleven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Pastor C.W. Kemp and Pastor Jeff Pickett officiating.  Burial will follow in the Midway Heights Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the funeral service.  A guestbook is available online by visiting www.vaughanguynnandmcgrady.com.  Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
