Alexander Miller Obituary

Alexander Sherlock Miller

Jan 7, 1987 - Feb 26, 2024

Sandusky

Somehow the world must find a way to get along without the help of Alexander Sherlock "Alex" Miller. He did as much as he could for as long as he could in the best way he knew how, but after having been given a prognosis shortly after his birth Jan. 7, 1987, of a lifespan of around 30 years, Alex succumbed to illness at the age of 37 on the morning of Monday, Feb. 26, 2024.

Alex was a competent, creative, intelligent, and caring human being who tried to make his mark on this world by making art, helping others, and doing what he could to buy the world time to address global warming. He wrote some short books and storylines for several T.V. shows and movies. He invented several board games and produced dozens of paintings. He refused to cash in his vacation time at his job because he preferred being helpful at his work to taking time off for his own entertainment. He would walk across his house to turn off a light that someone else had left on, took things home from his work that would have gone in the trash in order to recycle them, refused to use plastic straws because he heard that they were a major source of pollution in the oceans, and while he rarely spent money on himself, Alex went into debt to put up enough solar panels to make his carbon footprint negative. As his last willful act of caring, Alex asked that his body be returned to the Earth and having a tree planted on his grave with a headstone reading "Alexander S. Miller invites you to pick a piece of fruit."

Anyone wishing to honor Alex's life may do so by not being wasteful of the Earth's precious resources and turning off the lights, taking care of themselves by eating healthy foods, and getting enough exercise and by being kind to others. Somehow the world must find a way to get along without the help of Alex Miller, for if we do not, all that he did for us will have been in vain.
