Allene J. Amison, 69, of Reynoldsburg and formerly of Sandusky, gained her heavenly wings Friday, July 29, 2022, at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, after a brief illness.

She was born Feb. 10, 1953, in Sandusky, to the union of Estell Amison Sr. and Ida Lee Amison.

Allene grew up in Sandusky and graduated from Sandusky High School in 1972. She later moved to Los Angeles, California, and resided there for 28 years.

She was employed by The Housing Authority of The City of Los Angeles. She retired from HACLA after more than 23 dedicated years of service and moved back to Ohio in 2008 to be closer to her daughter, grandson, family, and friends. She was a faithful member of New Birth Christian Ministries in Columbus. She was currently employed with Columbus City School â€" Dietary Department. Allene loved to play tennis, exercise, take long walks, ride her bicycle, and spend time with her family, especially her great-grandkids. She was best known for her big beautiful smile, her laughter and her sweet personality. She never met a stranger. She loved to conversate with everyone. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Dionne L. Amison of Columbus; grandson, Xavier Amison of Columbus; great-granddaughter, Izabella Walls-Amison of Columbus; two great-grandsons, Xavier Amison II and Amir Amison, both of Columbus; six sisters, Georgia Amison, Mable Amison, Nancy Amison, and Donnie (Dee Dee) Amison, all of Columbus, Darlene (Lynn) Amison of Sandusky, and Carrie Rhone of Prince George, Virginia; four brothers, Estell Amison Jr. of Sandusky, Clinton Amison and Howard Amison, both of Columbus, and Joseph (Laura) Amison of Hopewell, Virginia; and many nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Allene was preceded in death by her parents, Estell Amison Sr. and Ida Lee Amison; sister, Christine Amison-Smith; brother, Samuel Lee Amison; uncles, Willie (Bill) Amison Sr., Elex Pentorn Sr., and Cornelius Amison Sr.; and aunts, Percy Collins, Minnie Pentorn, Mary Alice Amison, Katie Bell Amison Keahey, and Mary Amison.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2022, until Allene's funeral at 12 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky.
