Alton Frisch Obituary

Alton Frisch

Apr 16, 1933 - Jul 27, 2023

Marysville

Alton E. "Al" Frisch, 90, of Marysville, died Friday, July 27, 2023, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Scott Anderson, where he had been living under the care of Loving Care Hospice since March, 2023.

He was born April 16, 1933, in Bellevue, the middle son of Albert J. and Irene (Moyer) Frisch.

Al was a 1951 graduate of Bellevue High School where he was a member of the high school band. After graduation, Al chose to serve his country in U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War, where he achieved the rank of Boatswains Mate, Second Class. After his service to his country, Al returned to Bellevue and began working at the former GE Lamp Plant in Bellevue. It was during this time that he met his future wife, Caryl Lee Snyder, also of Bellevue. The couple were married July 11, 1959, at Sorrowful Mother Shrine outside of Bellevue, by Fr. Joseph Lapinski. In 1961, Al took a job as a driver with a new employer in the area, United Parcel Service, which operated out of a small center in Clyde. Al would work for UPS until his retirement in 1990. After retirement, Al and Caryl moved to Florida permanently and began living their life's dream of living in the sun, as well as traveling. Eventually returning to Ohio in 2012, they settled back in Columbus, where most of their family was located.

Al is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Caryl (Snyder) Frisch of Marysville; five daughters, Lori (Robert Jr.) Luderman of Defiance, Susan (Scott) Anderson of Marysville, Jacalyn (Anthony) DiSante of Upper Arlington, Judy Frisch of Delaware, Ohio, and Beth (Mark) Murphy of Blacklick; 16 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren, with one more expected to join the family this fall; brother, M. Eugene (Norma) Frisch of Ocala, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Christine Linder and Joan Snyder; brother-in-law, Alan Snyder; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Irene Frisch; sisters and their spouses, Edna (Walter) Wise, Dorothy (James) Jensen, and Bernita (Leland) Bowers; brother and his spouse, Charles A. (Norma Jean) Frisch; two sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Snyder) Robertson and Janet (Lepley) Snyder; two brothers-in-law, Walter Robertson and R. William Snyder, two nieces, Karen Comiskey and Lisa (Robertson) Mullet; and four nephews, James Robertson, Scott Bowers, Donald Wise, and Dennis Bowers, in infancy.

Visitation for friends will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where the Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue. Military honors will be rendered at the conclusion of Mass.
