Annette M. Munafo, 64, of Sandusky, passed after a long-fought battle with cancer Saturday, February 22, 2025, at her residence.

She was born November 13, 1960, in Sandusky and was a 1979 graduate of Perkins High School, where she ran track. She graduated from Toledo Academy of Beauty and owned her own salon when her kids were young. She retired from Freudenberg Nok Corteco in Milan, Ohio.

Annette was a member of Sandusky Sailing Club, where she had a passion for racing sailboats and was an excellent crew member. She also attended a Bible study club at The Chapel. She was a huge animal lover, and she especially enjoyed horseback riding. Annette was happiest when spending time with her kids and was especially excited about her new role as a grandma.

She is survived by three sons, Vincent Munafo, Anthony (Megan) Munafo, and Dylan Winkel; one grandson, Rocco Munafo; her mother and stepfather, Joyce and Alan Fitzpatrick; siblings, Veronica Jaeger, Teresa (Brian) Peterson, Peter (Darlene) Palmison, Vijay (Angela) Fitzpatrick, Sophia (Chad) Hall, John (Heather) Fitzpatrick, and Esther Fitzpatrick; her ex-husband, Gaetano F. Munafo; Dylan and Brianna's father, Eric Winkel; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dominic J. Munafo; a daughter, Brianna Winkel; her father and stepmother, Peter J. and Janet Palmison; and her brother-in-law, Matthew Jager.

At Annette's request, cremation has taken place. A private family service and inurnment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.

Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky has been entrusted with arrangements.

So sorry for your loss may God bless you always Annette, she had thought me to ride a horse back in highschool days. We had so much fun back then may God bless her always thinking of you always,in my heart forever, now you rest with the angels my friend love you beautiful lady

The Bigelow girls and palmison girls used to grow up together and we did little performances at grade school went to each others birthday parties spent the night in tents in back yard Annette was a beautiful soul inside and out hugs for all the family Ginger loves you all rest in peace heaven just gained a new angel
