Anthony Muratori Obituary

Anthony "Tony" C. Muratori

Oct 11, 1953 - Jan 17, 2025

Ellenton, FL

Anthony "Tony" Muratori, 71, passed away surrounded by loved ones Friday, January 17, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories as a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Born and raised in Sandusky, Tony graduated from Perkins High School in 1971. He dedicated nearly 30 years to Erie Blacktop, retiring in 2006. Over the years, he never missed one of his kids' sports games or a Tuesday night at the Old Dutch for dirtball. As an avid sports fan, he could be found cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers.

Tony's charm and warmth made him a friend to everyone he met. He was known for taking care of those around him with genuine kindness and generosity. His big Italian family pride was unmatched, and he embraced his dual U.S. / San Marino citizenship. The Muratori house was the heart of many weekends, filled with pool parties and lively basement poker games, bringing family and friends together for unforgettable memories.

Always active, he started Muratori's Mowing, where his dedication and work ethic shone until he retired to sunny Florida. There, he embraced the Florida lifestyle, enjoying the sunshine, beaches, golf and Coco Plum neighbors. Tony had an adventurous spirit and a love for traveling the world. He always appreciated a good cigar and a smooth ride in his Tesla.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jennie (Meno) Muratori.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Michele Muratori; and a devoted family who will continue to celebrate his incredible spirit; siblings, Deborah (Robert) Pusateri, Charles Muratori Jr., Terese (Timothy) Pepitone, and Jennifer Muratori; children, Jason Muratori, Ashley (Jason) Hermes, Matthew (Emily) Muratori, Arianna Ehmer, and Marina (Chris) Avila; and his cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth, Oswin, Duke, Meadow, Maci, Andrew, Olivia, Mason, Hayes, Brant, Roman, and Sydney; great-grandchildren, Rowan and Lenon; and many nieces and nephews.

Tony will live on in the stories, laughter, and love shared by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. A celebration of Tony's life will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Erie County Fairgrounds, Building 1. He will be placed in his final resting place next to his parents at Meadow Green Memorial Park in the spring.
