Anthony North Obituary

Anthony "Tony" North

May 19, 1974 - Jan 21, 2023

Sandusky

Anthony North was born May 19, 1974, to the late Roscoe and Jo Ellen North. Anthony was a giant, yet gentle, soul who graced this Earth with his endless compassion, kindness, laughter, charm, and character. He attended Sandusky High School where he was involved in wrestling, football, and band. After graduation in 1992, Anthony attended The Ohio State University and Ohio Business College. He worked at various Ford Plant locations for over 28 years following in the footsteps of his father. He was a member of UAW Local 1250.

Anthony loved cars, movies, dancing, answering all the Jeopardy questions correctly, and he had a love-hate relationship with camping. Anthony enjoyed good company. He especially appreciated the life-long bonds and support he received from the residents of his childhood neighborhood 52nd Street whom he considered "family," his life-long high school friends, and his life-long work friends. There are way too many lifelong friends to even list, but know that Anthony commented many times on how he was beyond grateful to have you in his life.

Anthony is survived by his sisters, Jo Ellen (Jimmie) Johnson of Kentucky, Kristin (Brandon) Taber of Michigan, Rhonda (Theo) North of New York City, New York, and Rachael North of Ohio; special cousins who always went above and beyond for our beloved brother, including Germaine, Jennifer, Greg, and JaMarius to name a few; nephews and nieces, Jimmie, Jih'Mahria, Jai'Vion, and Jamal; uncles, Isiah (Jennifer) and Sylvester; aunts, Chris, Debbie, Dot, and Frances; god sons, Xavier Marquise and Okechuku; several extended family members; his Ford family; and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents; and several cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Friends and family may call at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, until the time of Anthony's celebration of life at 12 p.m. at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870. The celebration of life will be led by Bishop Danny Dixson, where we will gather to share some of our favorite memories, stories, to laugh, to cry, and remember a wonderful person who is greatly missed.

Private burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Groff Funeral Home & Crematory, 1607 East Perkins Ave., Sandusky.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to contribute to Anthony's memory may do so by donating to SHS Blue Streak Boosters Club, PO Box 1444, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or by taking a trip to an adventurous destination of your choice, the way Anthony always dreamed of doing.

Anthony was indeed a sweet, gentle, baby-faced giant. High school to now, he has not changed. I will miss seeing him around. My thoughts are with his Family & Friends. <3

So sorry to hear about Anthony. He was such s beautiful soul and a gentle giant! Whenever I remember high school Spanish class, I can´t help but think of Tony and all his silly antics! He always put a smile on my face asking the teacher if he could sharpen his "el pencilo." He thought just adding an "o" onto the end of words made them spanish... oh Tony! We will fondly remember you friend.
