Anthony Waugh Obituary

Anthony Wayne Waugh

Feb 5, 1954 - Sep 6, 2024

Sandusky

Anthony "Wayne" Waugh, 70, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully in his home Friday, Sept. 6, 2024.

Wayne graduated from South Central High School. After taking early retirement from Ford Motor Co., he started his own business, Wayne's Boat Repair. He retired last year from Lew's Construction. Wayne grew up on Catawba Island and, at a young age, grew his love for boats.

Wayne was an avid fisherman and hunter. Most of his life he would coon hunt at night and never missed a deer season. The rest of his time he dedicated to his family and helping his friends. He loved seeing his grand and great-grandchildren ride four-wheelers and enjoy life. He was always the life of the party and would do almost anything to help someone out and put a smile on your face.

Wayne's life was full and he lived his bucket list. He is survived by his wife, Karla Waugh; daughters, Amanda Nebergall and Crystal Waugh; goddaughter, Nikki Rose; stepchildren, Candi, Brandi and Thomas; grandchildren, Micala (Dylan) Sparks, Macynzie (Luke) Gardner, Madison Nebergall and Mercedes Hobbs; great-grandchildren, Ian, Ella, and Paislee; significant other, Cathy Haley; siblings, Ronnie (Donna)Waugh, Allen Waugh, Pat (Dave) Poth and Gwynn Waugh; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Letha Waugh; brother, Alfred Waugh; sister, Kathy Waugh; and twin brothers, Timothy and Jeffery Waugh.

Per Wayne's request, cremation will take place. Friends and family may gather from 10 a.m. until a memorial service begins at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Following the service there will be a celebration of life at The Athletic Club, 902 W. Adams St., Sandusky. Please bring a covered dish to share.

Wayne was an amazing guy. Always had a smile on his face and would put a smile on yours. I will never forget him and all of the things he taught me. I´ll forever miss the farm days and camping with him!

My first memory of my brother is when we were little, and it was Christmas. we were all so excited to get up and see what Santa brought us. I remember a marble game of some kind and all kinds of other gifts around. but that game was the one that Wayne wanted. I remember us riding horses and playing baseball with our parents. I remember going fishing, then later getting stuck on a Rock pile with his 1964 mustang. Great double date night. So many memories!!
