Arvel Tipton, 52, of Clyde, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, at his home.

He was born Sept. 28, 1971, in Columbus, the son of Arvel Lee (Rebecca) Tipton and Virginia (Helsel) Ferrel.

Arvel enjoyed a cup of coffee and telling a good story. He loved Southern Gospel music, watching WWE wrestling, White Castle sliders, and going out to eat with his family. He was an animal lover of everything but birds. He was a member of Anchor of Hope Church in Port Clinton.

He is survived by wife, Vicki (Chiow), whom he met at Ohio Apostolic Campgrounds during church camp and they were married Feb. 18, 1992 in Kentucky; children, Gabrielle Tipton of Clyde, Grant (Alyssa) Tipton of Louisiana, and Garrett Tipton of Clyde; grandchildren, Malachi Tipton, Meshach Tipton, and numerous adopted grandchildren; mother, Rebecca Tipton of Kentucky; and siblings, Randy (Annabelle) Chaffin of Mt. Sterling, Albert (Sam) Tipton of London, Ohio, Shawn Chaffin of Tennessee, Patricia Holcomb of Kentucky, Clayton (Shannon) Chaffin of Grove City, Josh Helsel of Columbus, and Frank Helsel of Columbus.

Arvel was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for friends will be 12 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, until the time of Arvel's funeral at 3 p.m. at Foos Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy., Clyde. Pastor James Pitt of Anchor of Hope Church will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Anchor of Hope Church, 1854 East Perry Street, Port Clinton, to assist family.
