Barbara Sue "Barb" Kaufman (nee Borsick), 92, of Sandusky, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024. She was residing in Sandusky at Providence Care Center.
She was born April 21, 1932, in Sandusky, to Frank "Dutch" and Clara (Bickley) Borsick. She resided in Sandusky where she attended Sandusky High School. Barb, as she was affectionately known, loved to golf and belonged to many leagues. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. After retiring from Grill Meats, she was able to play golf much more often. When she was not on the golf course, Barb loved to socialize, meet up with family and friends, and do her word puzzles. She loved to sing and enjoyed a karaoke evening at a club so she could belt out a tune or two. For many years, she would spend most of the winter months in sunny Florida. Barb never met a stranger. She knew lots of people in Sandusky and if she didn't know you, she spoke to you anyway.
Barb is survived by her fiancé, Densel Terry of Castalia; daughter, Tammi Payne of Sandusky; stepsons, Larry Kaufman (Jackie) of Sandusky and Merlin Kaufman (Susan) of Dade City, Florida; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin "Bud" Kaufman; two
stepsons, Tom and Chuck Kaufman; and all 10 of her siblings, Ellen Melson, baby Eileen, Jean Borsick, June Wallace, Joanne Paule, Bill, Paul, Joe, David, and baby Leroy Borsick.
Visitation for friends and family will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky. Barb's services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2024, at the funeral home followed by burial at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barb's name to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or charity of your choice.
