Barbara J. Nofzinger, 88, of Bellevue and formerly of Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2023, at Bellevue Care Center.

She was born June 23, 1935, in Buffalo, New York, to Oswald and Hulda (Benson) Osterberg. She graduated from Kenmore High School in New York in 1953 and attended Kent State University and Bowling Green State University. She lived in Sandusky and was a former member of Sandusky Yacht Club and former schoolteacher with Sandusky Schools. She was also a former member of Zion Lutheran Church and St. John Lutheran Church in Bellevue where she taught Sunday School. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed boating, her rose garden and flowers, and attending her children's activities including being a band parent and booster parent.

She is survived by her daughters, Gay Lynn (Tim) Englehart, Donna Dodge, and Karen (Frank) Reinke Nitti; stepson, David Nofzinger; stepdaughter, Donna J. (Mark) Dwyer; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Donald Reinke, in 1978; second husband, Donald Nofzinger, in 2003; sister, Ann Kristine Osterberg, in 1960; and grandson, Brian Englehart, in 2000.

Per her request, cremation will take place and there will be no services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk.

Memorial contributions may be sent to one's favorite charity.
