Green Springs
Barbara A. Tusing, 85, of Green Springs, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026, at The Willows at Bellevue. She was born December 20, 1940, the daughter of John Oliver and Mary Ellen (Swartz) Fleming. Barb married James Dise, June 22, 1957, in Milan, Ohio. She then married Donald L. Tusing Sr., November 21, 1977, in Donaldsonville, Georgia, and he preceded her in death April 8, 2018.
Barb worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 15 years before retiring. She was a member of Green Springs United Methodist Church and Finger Pickers Quilt Guild. Barb enjoyed camping, traveling, clogging, quilting, crocheting and had a strong faith.
Barb is survived by her daughters, Debra Ann (David) Merrell, Castalia, Lori Ann Thomas, Festus, Missouri, Teresa Ann Summers, Sandusky, and Jean Ann (Scott Berger) Gerber, Bellevue; sister, Margaret Jane Jackson; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; stepchildren, Christina Lee Brown of Georgia and Donald L. "DJ" (Monica) Tusing Jr. Tiffin; and numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James Dise and Donald Tusing; brothers, Edward Fleming and Richard Fleming; sons-in-law, Steve Thomas and Douglas Summers; nephew, Antony DeSanto; and stepson-in-law, Richard Brown.
Visitation will take place from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 211 N Broadway St., Green Springs.
Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at York Free Chapel, Bellevue.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Buckeye Hospice.
