Benjamin Earl Fritz, 82, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 19, 2025, at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

Benjamin was born February 12, 1943, in Wooster, to the late Philip and Mary Emeline (Major) Fritz.

Benjamin was a 1963 graduate of Sandusky High School. He enlisted in the United States Army Reserves during the Vietnam War Era, proudly serving his country, and was honorably discharged after six years. He was employed as a food purveyor at Sysco for 40 years. Benjamin was a member of American Legion Post 83 and AMVETS Post 17. Benjamin enjoyed golfing.

Benjamin is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee (Merriam) Fritz, whom he married August 20, 1965. He is also survived by his daughter, Trisha Lynn Fritz; sister-in-law, Gail Mack; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Benjamin is preceded in death by his son, Matthew Philip Fritz in 1971; his brothers, Philip J. Fritz and Lowell D. Fritz; and a sister, Sandra A. (Fritz) Hurst.

Private family services will take place. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory is honored to assist the family with arrangements.

You could always tell Ben was in front of you by his patented duck walk strike. He and I used to bother Uncle Mike Fritz at Mills Creek GC until we would break down and gives us a couple of this re washed Creek balls whcih we promptly returned to the Creek from whence it came. A nicer person there nexter was and Nancy was a wonderful mate to Ben Rest in Peace Benny I please dont play slow in from of us today/
