Bernadette "Brenda" Cunningham, 64, Sandusky, peacefully departed this life Wednesday, December 10, 2025, after a lengthy illness. She was born November 4, 1961, in Sandusky, to Lester Dorsey Sr. and Katie Nickelson. She was lovingly raised by her bonus parents, Annie and Rev. Prince E. Williams.

Brenda accepted Christ at an early age and attended New Jerusalem Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Sandusky High School. Later, she moved to Columbus, where she worked on the assembly line for the Honda dealership.

In 1999, Brenda relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where she worked for America West Airlines. After completing her time in the airline industry, and never being afraid to try something new, she began working for Shamrock Foods. Brenda dedicated more than 17 years of service before eventually returning to Sandusky. Brenda cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to music, going to concerts, movies, and studying the Bible.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Anrico Cunningham Sr; her daughter, Mikaiala Nuby; granddaughters, Anziyah Cunningham, Kamari Fleming, Avaiya Cunningham, and Mikayla Deans; grandson, Anrico Cunningham Jr.; great-grandsons, Tahj Staveskie Jr. and Za'Ki Staveskie; and a special aunt, Louise Turner. She is also survived by her brothers, Welston (Carolyn) Nickelson, Houston Nickelson Jr., Lester (Gloria) Dorsey, and Randy (Lisa) Dorsey; and her sisters, Barbara Nickelson, Lillie Nickelson, Elouise Nickelson, Renee Williams (Eddie) Goodman, Shirley (Willie) Clark, Toni (James) Wheeler, and Christine Dorsey, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her maternal grandparents; her bonus parents; brothers, Henry D. Nickelson and Jerry Everett; sisters, Dollie M. Nickelson, Josephine Brown, and Gloria Flowers; aunts, Velena Cunningham, Dinah Catlett, and Mamie Pettis; and uncles, Ceola Tarlton and Walter Cunningham.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
