Candace L. Longnecker, 73, residing in Vickery, passed away the morning of Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at University of Toledo Medical Center, surrounded by family after a brief illness.

Candace was born Sept. 15, 1950, in Republic, to Harry and Vivian (Wood) Anderson.

Candace was known for her big heart and kind demeanor. Her German chocolate cake was a staple at all family birthdays and special occasions. Anyone who had the pleasure of tasting her baking was always blown away by the amount of flavor and love she put into everything that she did.

Candace was the Office Manager at Commons of Providence where she was loved by residents and co-workers alike, retiring in 2016 after many years of service. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her dogs Gunner and Chloe, cooking, baking, arts and crafts, cross stitching, and spending time with her family and friends.

Candace is survived by her husband, Danny Longnecker, whom she married April 19, 1974; daughter, Danielle (Eamonn) Hobbs of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; son, Jay (Whitney) Longnecker of Raleigh, North Carolina; brother, Jim (Gabriele) Anderson of Arizona; brother-in-law, Robert Longnecker of Huron; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Sandy Anway.

Candace's celebration of life will be private for family and conducted at a later date.
