Dr. Carolyn A. Schaaf of Attica died at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022, at her home in Attica.
She was born Jan. 30, 1940, to Dorcey and Ocena (Scheerer) Enders. Dr. Carolyn was an originator of Schaaf Chiropractic Center in Attica along with her husband.
Dr. Carolyn is survived by her two sons and two daughters, Dr. Gene Schaaf of Attica, Dr. Laura Schaaf of Attica, Vicki (Joseph) Wagner of Attica, and Dr. Gary W. Schaaf of Attica; three grandchildren, Riley, Hannah, and Adelyn Wagner of Attica; and two sisters and three brothers, Dolores (Howard) Bauer of Willard, Linda (Chuck) Wentz of Spicewood, Texas, Eldon Enders of Republic, Dennis (Donna) Enders of Attica, and Melvin Enders of Attica.
Dr. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Kenneth L. Schaaf; daughter, Christy L. Schaaf; brother, Gene Enders; daughter-in-law, Däphne Schaaf; and sister-in-law, Jeanette Enders.
Dr. Carolyn graduated from Attica High School in 1958 and from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1961. She started her practice in 1961 and retired from practice in 2020. She was a founding member of Ohio State Chiropractic Association, member of Palmer Chiropractic Alumni Association, President Club member of Palmer Chiropractic College, member of Chiropractic Masters Circle, member of Parker Research Foundation, Pioneer in licensing in the state of Ohio, 2020 OSCA President's Award recipient, active founder and board member of Legacy Life Enrichment Center, and Chiropractor of the Year in 1997. Dr. Carolyn enjoyed sewing, tending her flower beds, traveling, baking, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Carolyn's funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, at Legacy Life Enrichment Center, Attica, with Pastor Mark Boedecker officiating. Burial will follow at Attica Venice Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2022, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, Bloomville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Legacy Life Enrichment Center, Attica.
