Carrie M. Caudill, 54, residing in Sandusky, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 2, 2023, at Meadows of Osborn Park following a brief illness.

Carrie was born Dec. 20, 1968, in Sandusky, to Jackie Caudill and Christine (Geason) Smith.

Carrie was employed with New Horizon Bakery in Norwalk. She enjoyed watching all the Cleveland sports teams as well as the Ohio State Buckeyes, going to concerts, bowling, cooking for her family, and spending time with her family and friends, especially the grandchildren.

Carrie is survived by her daughter, Courtney (Seth Routsong Sr.) Cobern of Sandusky; partner, Craig Ahlers; two stepchildren, Luke and Sadie Ahlers; two grandchildren, Makenna Cobern and Seth Jr.; sister, Angie (Jim) Fleeman of Louisiana; brother, Brian (Angel) Smith of Sandusky; best friend of 30 years, Jennifer Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Carrie was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Clayton Smith; son, Richard Michael Cobern; and grandparents that raised her, Woodrow and Bonnie Caudill.

Carrie's celebration of life will be 1-5 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Thirsty Pony in the Palm Tree Room in Sandusky.

Groff Funeral Home and Crematory, Sandusky, is handling arrangements for the family.

Memorial contributions may be made to one's favorite charity.

I saw Carrie's story on ID, and when looking for more information I was saddened to see she had passed away. I'm sorry for her family's loss. She seemed like a very sweet lady, and very brave.

I was just going through the obituaries looking for a friend that had passed, & lost myself when I seen that an ole time friend had passed when I lived in Sandusky Ohio yrs ago, my thoughts & prayers sincerely go out to her kids , & her brother Brian. I´ll be seeing you soon my dear friend we got some gossip to catch upon, I´ve missed you so, friends forever RIP

Carrie, you will never ever be forgotten. Your generous loving ways will be remembered always. I can't recall many times seeing you without a smile on your face. Your soft spoken words could brighten anyones day. That was the Carrie we all knew May you rest in heaven and fly with the Angels above, until we meet again . Love you my dear cousin
