Catharine Ann "Kay" (Brunk) Eash, 92, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Saturday evening, August 16, 2025, at Stein Hospice Care Center after a brief illness. Her life reflected her faith in Jesus Christ and now she lives with him eternally.
Kay was born November 6, 1932, in Goshen, Indiana, to the late John Milton and Elsie (Yoder) Brunk.
Kay graduated from Frederick High School in Maryland and was a 1954 graduate of Goshen College. She was employed as a teacher at Genoa and Sandusky City Schools. Kay was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed volunteering, world travel and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Kay is survived by her three daughters, Susan (Greg) Mathews, Karen (Garry) Masowich, and Barbara (Paul) Simonsen; seven grandchildren, Anita, Chris, Katie, Mike, Amy, Jenn and Lisa; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Verlin G. Eash, in 1989; and her brother, Jack Brunk.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, with her son-in-law, Pastor Paul Simonsen presiding. Burial will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
