Catharine Weis "Cathy" Price, 81, of Birmingham, Alabama, and formerly of Sandusky, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, in Birmingham, Alabama.
Cathy was born May 21, 1942, in Sandusky, to Catharine (Hampe) Weis and Victor Henry Weis. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1960 and pursued a career in nursing for 25 years.
She later worked for Frank Valli Insurance Agency until her retirement.
Cathy was one of the most caring and giving individuals whose love for her family was constant and true. She was not a church-goer, but had a strong belief and prayer was part of her daily life. Raised on the shores of Lake Erie, she was an avid water skier and is remembered for her keen sense of humor and wit.
She is survived by her daughter, Emmy Price Dobyns (Jeffrey), with whom she'd been living for the past year; stepdaughters, Wendy Price-Kiser (Marlon), Sharon Price-Holmes (Raymond), and Deborah Price-Girmai (Haile); daughter-in-law, Pamela Kaman; grandchildren, Nicholas, Evan, and Alexander Dobyns, Matthew and Danielle Kaman, Catharine Kaman-Sostre, and Victoria Rook; great-grandchildren, Travis Hinckley and Kyla Rotan; numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; sisters, Emmy Weis Wolff and Carol Weis Jones; niece, Catharine Elizabeth (Richard) Darke; nephews, Jeffrey Wolff and Jack Brinker; and great-niece and nephew, Eve and Jackson Darke.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kermit F. Price; sons, Victor Michael Kaman and Matthew Charles Kaman; brothers-in-law, Jack Wolff and Wendell Jones; and niece, Janet Renee Jones.
At her request, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or services and private family inurnment at Oakland Cemetery will occur at a later date.
Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is assisting family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
