Catherine M. Platte, 68, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Monday evening, March 16, 2026, at Admiral's Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy illness.

Catherine was born June 18, 1957, in Sandusky, to the late Duwayne and Janet (Stamm) Dickman.

Catherine was employed at the former Providence Hospital and also owned and operated her own cleaning business for many years before retiring. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Catherine found joy in gardening and caring for her plants, working word puzzles, and baking. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Catherine is survived by her husband, Don Platte Jr., whom she married June 17, 1978. She is also survived by her daughters, Deanna (Jerrad Pean), Kimberly (Randy) Knall and LeAnn Close; 10 grandchildren, Skylar, Kelsey, Olivia, Sophia, Trista, Donnie, Lilly, Trinity, Kalyn and Alexis; great-grandson, Brayden; sister, Diana (Mike) Frantz; brother-in-law, Al Knepper; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by her sister, Debora Knepper.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at noon Monday, March 23, 2026, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
