Sandusky

Chad Ryan Rothgeb of Sandusky, born June 28, 1985, passed away unexpectedly at Firelands Regional Medical Center Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

A devoted father of five -he was always there to offer love, guidance, and support. Chad was a kind soul that filled our lives with compassion. He was always thinking of others first, giving out the best hugs, advice, and laughs. To know him was to love him.

He had many passions in life, including fishing with his kids, cooking for others, "gardening" and working on cars. Chad created masterpieces in whatever he touched.

He cherished time spent with his children, family, and friends. Always up for an adventure and always there for whoever needed him, no matter what.

Chad was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents, Douglas and Eula Schultz, and Grandparents Francine Schultz Gregory and Maxwell Ricketts.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Reese Rothgeb (18), Alexis Rothgeb (17), Chad Rothgeb Jr. (12), Garrett Andrews (15), Hunter Andrews (9); and fiance, Morgan Andrews. As well as his father, Rick Rothgeb; his great aunt, Charlene Meyer; his uncle, Mark Rothgeb. His sisters and brothers, Ashley (Cody) Jarrett, Angelica Weltlin, Blair Ross, Gabe Ross, Andrew and Katherine Clang, Dennis (Willy) Anderson, Kurt and Cassidy Fahler, Chris and Anna Coulbourne II, James (Dabby) Leedy, Tyler Koontz and Ian Solis. His nieces and nephews, Weezy and Bubby Baker, Kaylei Clang, Harrison Anderson, Jordan Fahler, and Jackson and Owen Coulbourne. As well as an extended family he surrounded himself with.

Chad left us all with wonderful memories and touched the hearts of all those who were honored with the privilege to meet him. His legacy will live on for generations to come, inspiring those around him with his kindheartedness, generosity, and unforgettable spirit.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date. All family and friends are welcome to attend. Watch Facebook for an event posting.

I've never met Chad in person, but he'd already been around in the j-body community for years before I found it. He inspired me and gave incredible recommendations that I'll never forget. He was a great guy. I'm keeping his memory alive with things I bought from him, and recipes he sent to me. I just wish I could have met him. RIP Chad, and fly high.

Rest in peace to one of the best, we may have never met, but the knowledge you shared along the way, and the friendships formed with you, or because of you will be remembered and cherished for eternity

To the family, may all of these beautiful messages be passed along to you, knowing Chad was loved by many far and wide

I've have only gotten to meet him once in person, although we have been Facebook friends for years. But Chad was an awesome guy, with amazing skills behind everything he did. He was a major inspiration to many not only in the car community but as a person to look up to and be like in life. A true role model. Sending love and prayers out to his family. He will be missed greatly. (Pictures of his car from the 2016 J-Body Bash where we met. I wish we had a picture of us together, we had on the same exact Chevy shirt that day)

I knew Chad through his J-body.org. posts, and later Facebook groups, where I admired Chad's passion for cars, creativity, and fun along with his dedication as a family man! Chad will be missed in the Jbody and car communities, and remembered for years to come! My prayers to you all! Long live laying frame in a lowrider Cavalier!

Chad was an amazing guy. We bonded over cars but had lots of discussions about life, love, relationships, parenthood, and countless other topics over the years. He used his talents to help create a one-of-a-kind ukulele for my daughter that she absolutely loves. He was taken from us way too soon. Rest easy Chad and my condolences to his family and friends.

I was saddened to hear of Chad's passing. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting him in person, we spoke for several years through facebook and the legendary j-body.org. I met him through our mutual love of the J-body (Cavalier). I got to know him pretty well over the years and became good friends. We would talk about cars, family, and life in general. I always knew I could trust him and felt as though I could tell him anything, really. My condolences and heart go out to his children and all of his entire family and friends. Chad, you were a real one and one hell of a great man. I am proud to have known you and will always remember you with incredible contentment and love in my heart. Rest in peace, brother. -From "Z Yaaaa" (Brad Wheeler)

It is hard to put into words how much Chad was to me. He wasn´t just a nephew, he was a son! Anytime I needed help, he was there for me bringing his friends too! I was there for the good, the bad and the ugly of times we go thru in life but we always had each other´s back! That was how he was. He loved his family and friends and made his friends his "family ". My heart hurts as I miss the texts and calls already but I know his pains are over and he is fishing somewhere with family and friends who met him as he passed.
