Charlene Elizabeth Smith, 83, of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, at Stein Hospice Care Center.

She was born May 1, 1941, to Wilfred and Felicia Camp and raised in Norwalk. She moved to Bellevue in 1966 after her marriage to Guy P. Smith. She attended all her school years at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Norwalk, then worked for Northern Ohio Telephone Co. from 1961 to 1964. Char began her career at Norfolk Western Railroad in 1972, retiring as a clerk in 2003.

She married Guy P. Smith, the love of her life, Oct. 24, 1964, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Norwalk. They lived together in Bellevue, where they raised their two daughters, Alicia and Melissa.

Char loved to travel the world with her husband Guy. She enjoyed years of adventures on their boat and fishing with her family and friends, and long motorcycle rides with Guy. She found joy in crocheting, walking, babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to read, shopping and spending time going out to dinner with her family.

Char is leaving behind the family who always loved her dearly: daughters, Alicia Smith Steward and Melissa Smith (Randy Rohr); grandchildren, Sarah Wicker, Christopher (Erin) Ewing, Julia (Jesse) Alejandro, Melanie (Evan) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Chase Wicker, Sofia Ewing, Catriana Ewing, Emma Alejandro, Jerrick Alejandro, Luca Reffner, Elijah Wilson, Alarik Wilson and Nicodemus Ewing.
