Charles L. Grissom, 60, Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, at Firelands Regional Medical Center.

Charles was born April 2, 1964, in Detroit, Michigan to Gracie Brown and Otis Grissom. Charles attended Sandusky High School. He obtained an associates degree in HVAC which is Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning and a certification in Facilities Maintenance as well as a graduate of Ashland College.

Charles loved riding his motorcycle, dancing and singing Karaoke. His number one job in life was taking care of his wife, JoAnn.

Charles leaves to mourn his passing, wife, JoAnn Garrett-Grissom; mother, Gracie (late Peter) Brown; father, Otis (Dorothy) Grissom; daughters, Sierra (Anthony Jones, Sr.) Grissom and December (Joe Moon) Haubert; sons, Keenan Bonner-Grissom, Alonzo Bonner and Gregory Garrett; sisters, Doretha (James) Reed, Teresa Grissom, Penny Brown and Gladys Knight; brothers, Eddie Thomas, Otis Grissom, Jr., Chad Grissom, Peter Brown, Jr. and Roger Morgan; sisters-in-law, Camille (Alvin Crosby) Sibbitt, Kathy (Michael) Goncalves, and Norciva (James) Kosier; brothers-in-law,: Gustava (Belinda) Walls, Sr. and Elijah Walls; 19 grandchildren of special mention, Kaniyah Bonner, Tarris Rollison, Tierraz Rollison-Jones and Aa King' Zo Bonner; special mentions, nieces and nephews, Shanta Grissom, Torrence (Kinshana) Grissom, Mariah (Fred) Smith, Jameriah Reed and Lily Grissom; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and brother from another mother; uncles Bobby and Dave Johnston.

Charles was preceded in death by his grandparents, Amie (Green) Williams and Shot Thomas and Ruth and Charles Grissom; stepfather, Peter Brown; sisters, Gwendolyn Grissom Walker and Lisa Morgan; brother, Artie Grissom and Larry Grissom in infancy; mother and father-in-law, Gustava and Elnora Garrett; sisters-in-law, Juanita Sherrills and Mary Dean Garrett; nephews, Terrence (TJ) Grissom, Claudis Cossio and Gustava Walls, Jr.; granddaughter, Anoz Bonner.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at noon Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.

Hey Grissom family. I wish you all my deepest condolences, I remember Charles called me afternoon Sunday 8th and then I found out Wednesday this had happened.
I know he was a good man, and I wanted to do right by him. If you ever need any help with the estate, I will do my best to find answers.
