Charles Dean "Chuck" Swineford Jr., 62, of Huron, passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, following an accident at his home, just shy of his 63rd birthday.

After graduating from Vermilion High School, Chuck went into the family business, eventually starting his own, Swineford Petroleum, which he owned and operated until his recent retirement. Chuck, like his father, was an entrepreneur, owning the petroleum business, C&D Storage, Berlin Heights Carryout, and an office building. His creative business mind brought him much success. Chuck liked to work hard and play hard.

From a young age, Chuck liked things that went fast - cars, boats, snowmobiles, jet skis, and motorcycles to name a few. He raced dirt bikes, snow and water skied, and enjoyed being on Lake Erie. His sister always said he had nine lives, surviving some harrowing adventures during his lifetime.

Chuck loved his family and was extremely proud of his kids, Eric and Jenna. He loved to travel to Florida to visit Eric and was excited about Jenna's new home and fiancé, Kent. He was looking forward to Jenna's wedding next year and was planning a visit to see Denise and Mark.

Chuck is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Swineford of Huron; children, Eric Swineford of Stuart, Florida, and Jenna Swineford of Vermilion; sister, Denise Gregor of California; brother-in-law, Mark Lasky of California; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and sweet dog, Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Swineford Sr.

Chuck's funeral to celebrate his life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, Sandusky Chapel, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Private burial will take place Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at Oak Bluff Cemetery, Huron. Mel Sayler will officiate.
