Charley T. Irick, 93, of Port Clinton, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, at Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, where he had been a resident for the past eight years.
He was born Sept. 1, 1929, in Port Clinton, to the late Frederick H. and Ellen (Hendrix) Irick. He married Arlene K. Londsale on May 7, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and she survives. Charley served in U.S. Navy from Aug. 1948 to April 1953 aboard the USS Cabot as an electrician. He retired from Ford Motor Company and Port Clinton Police Department.
In addition to his loving wife of 70 years, Arlene, he is survived by two daughters, Pat Hovis and Sandi Hofacker, both of Port Clinton; son, David (Cassy) Irick of New Bremen; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Charles Irick; and brothers, Fred Irick and Edgar Irick.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, with family present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton. Charley's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2023, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, with military graveside rites.
Memorial contributions in memory of Charley may be given to Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky.
