Clayton Kelly Obituary

Clayton Kelly

Dec 1, 1934 - Oct 7, 2025

Castalia

Clayton Kelly, a cherished soul known for his unwavering faith and musical talent, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Born December 1, 1934, in Harrogate, Tennessee, Clayton's journey through life was one of joy, music, and an enduring love for his family and the Lord. Clayton was the loving husband of the late Mabel (Wilson) Kelly. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Charlene Kelly, Donna (Bob) Snelling, and Sherri (Doug) Warren. Clayton's legacy continued through his cherished grandchildren, Josh (Amber) Kelly, Heather Tucker, Dr. Cody (Madalaine) Warren, Dylan (Zoe) Warren, Brooke Warren, and Tony Snelling, as well as his treasured great-grandchildren, Chance Tucker, Wrenley and Evren Warren.

His early education in Tennessee, followed by further learning in Monroe, Michigan, laid the foundation for a successful life. Clayton spent many years at Ford Motor Co. before retiring. He was deeply involved within the Christian singing community. An accomplished musician, Clayton could play most stringed instruments and could make a guitar sing and the harmonica dance. His passion for music led him to start "The Gospelways," a singing group that traveled the tristate area, spreading the message of God's goodness. In his later years, he ministered with Blue Ridge Gospel Heirs, touching countless lives with his gift of song. As the treasurer of the singing association, he played a pivotal role in organizing the beloved "Singing Under The Stars" annual concert, bringing together many Christian artists for a weekend of fellowship and praise. Clayton's faith was the cornerstone of his life, and he lived by the words of Jesus, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life" (John 8:12).

He has now joined the celestial choir and, undoubtedly, is singing with the angels, his soul forever at peace in the embrace of the Lord.

Viewing will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Sandusky Church of God, 1018 W. Bogart Rd., Sandusky. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Castalia Cemetery. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, is handling arrangements.
