Dale Wayne Hoffman, 81, residing in Huron, passed away at home with his loving wife of 52 years by his side after a lengthy illness Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Dale was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Lorain to the late Gordon C. and Leota P. (Marshall) Hoffman.

Dale was a 1961 graduate of Lorain High School. He began working for Kohlmyer Industrial Supply in 1963 and became co-owner and Vice President in 1966. In 2001, Dale began working at Kohlmyer Sporting Goods until his retirement in December 2006, with over 44 years of dedicated service. Following his retirement, Dale and Mary Ann enjoyed 16 winters in Cape Coral, Florida. Dale was a member of Huron United Methodist Church, Huron Yacht Club, Masonic Lodge No.503 and Amherst Eagles No.1441. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, golfing and cooking. His greatest joy was his family, and he loved spending quality time with them and his many friends.

Dale is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Jurczynski) Hoffman, whom he married Sept. 2, 1972; daughter, Lynne Mary (James H.) Mahaffey of St. Petersburg, Florida; sons, Paul Marshall (Regan) Hoffman of Syracuse, Indiana and Dale Mark (Theresa) Hoffman of North Fairfield; six grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Isaac, Breana (Janelle) Mahaffey, Ashley (Jacob) Shisler, Gage Knox, Jacob Hoffman and Lydia (Luke) Silva; four great-grandchildren, Skylar, Kaydyn, Lexi and Marshall; sisters-in-law, Susan (Eddie) Dziubek of Amherst and Rosi Jursinski of Vermilion; brothers-in-law, Richard (Shirley) Jurczynski and Walter Jr. (Colleen Knight) Jurczynski, both of Lorain; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his grandson, Ryan Mahaffey; sister, JoAnn (Barry) Thomas; and brother-in-law, Robert Jursinski.

A celebration of life will be from 12-2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at Huron Yacht Club, 350 Huron St, Huron, OH 44839. A private family inurnment will take place at Meadow Green Memorial Park in Huron. Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory in Sandusky is assisting the family with arrangements.
