Darrell "Dean" Skaggs, of Lambertville, Michigan, and formerly of Norwalk, passed away Thursday Aug. 4, 2022, after fighting a courageous battle against cancer. Dean was born Feb. 21, 1960, in Sandusky. He was the son of Edward and Julie Skaggs.

Dean served as a Sergeant for eight proud years in National Guard. He worked many years in the flooring industry. Dean would tell you he was a jack of all trades and a master of none, but always willing to help anyone. He was a lover of art, especially Vincent Van Gogh. He enjoyed music, specifically classic rock. Dean would read anything he could get his hands on, even a cookbook, as he was a foodie at heart and loved to cook. Dean enjoyed spending time outdoors and spent countless hours fishing with his brother-in-law, Greg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Christine Spencer; and nephew, Chad Lawton.

Dean is survived by his brother, John (Liz); sisters, Connie (Greg), Cindy, Barb (Mark), Diane (Dennis), Linda, and Rachel (Steve); brother-in-law, Cliff; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A memorial gathering will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2022, at Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1460 Smith Rd. (at Jackman Rd.), Temperance, Michigan.
