DaShara Vernice Helen Pickens-Aust, 29, Sandusky, was born May 15, 1994, to Robert Earl Pickens and Wanda Naylor-Pickens at Firelands Community Hospital in Sandusky. DaShara passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024.

DaShara, nicknamed "Shara" or "Shar", attended and graduated from Sandusky High School in 2012 with a high school diploma and a cosmetology education. After her first job at A.C.O.R.N. Ministries, Shara and Cory Aust (son of Linda and Craig Aust, Sandusky) met during high school, fell madly in love, and married April 22, 2017. The couple's favorite song was Kem's – "Share My Life" but Shara's favorite artists, hands down were B2K and Drake. As a wonderful result of their union, Shara and Cory were blessed to parent four children, Ja'Laeyah Marie Pickens (Marquis Winston), Cornelious Josiah Aust, Madilynn Earline Guwan Aust, and Julius Cordell Aust.

Shara was employed at JC Penney in the Beauty Department.

As for hobbies, Shara's first love has always been her family and friends. Her love for make-up and good food definitely came in a close second. Shara loved fishing.

Shara was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, George Lee and Loretta V. Wheeler, husband's grandparents, Betty and Alex Patton; cousins, Whitney and Sierra Keys.

Shara leaves the following immediate family to mourn her passing, her husband, parents, children; two brothers, Dustin Naylor (Jacksonville, FL) and Brad Naylor, Sandusky, a stepbrother, Glen Redding (Dough), Sandusky; a special cousin, TaJah McKenzie, Sandusky; two brothers-in-law, Chris Aust, Sandusky, and Jason Aust, Perrysburg; two nephews, Kaleb Naylor, Detroit, Michigan and JaMeer Naylor, Sandusky, a niece, Braya Naylor, Sandusky; two uncles, Curtis Pope and George Wheeler, Columbus; three aunts, Joyce Kenley, Sandusky, Lisa Collins and Anita Egar, Arkansas; two step aunts, Rose Mary Crosby (Vernon), California and Mary Ann Curley(Homer), Indiana; a step uncle, Danny Irby, New York; special great-aunt, Annette and uncle Charles Wheeler Sandusky; special great aunt, Emma Ruth Richardson(Willie), Hattisburg, Mississ; special great uncle, Jessie Otis Pope (Emma), Hattisburg, Mississippi; godparents, CaSandra Warren, Sandusky, and Curtis Prey, Mississippi; the entire Redding Family and a host of great uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and co-workers.

DaShara's wake will be 6 -8 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024, at Porters Memorial C.M.E. Church, 1722 Third Street, Sandusky. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the church. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
