David L. Kirk, 78, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday, Dec. 10, 2023.

He was born Jan. 9, 1945, in Newark, Ohio, to William and Goldina (Goff) Kirk. Growing up, he loved fishing, camping, and the outdoors. David served in U.S. Army in the 2nd Armored Division ("Hell on Wheels") and worked for Ford Motor Company until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of American Legion Post 41, Eagles, and Bronson Conservation Club.

David was an avid collector and loved to cultivate new collections of various antiques and collectables, especially coins and furniture. He was skilled handyman, building and renovating the majority of his home himself. David loved to travel and planned yearly road trips with his family, traveling through almost the entire United States during their many adventures. He was always excited to share these experiences with his family and worked hard to ensure they could always share these experiences. David's favorite pastime was spending time around the campfire with his family, friends, and a bottle of Jim Bean and Labatts.

David is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Kirk; children, David Kirk II, Michael Kirk, Kris Penwell, and Pam Wheeler; brother, Bruce Kirk; and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Goldina Kirk; daughter, Lisa Bailey; brother, William E. Kirk Jr.; stepmother, Emogene Kirk; and Baby Boy Kirk.

A graveside inurnment is being planned for a later date.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
