Delores Davis Obituary

Delores "Dee" Davis

Oct 5, 1958 - Aug 26, 2022

Castalia

Delores "Dee" Davis, 63, of Castalia and formerly of Milan, passed away unexpectedly Friday, Aug. 26, 2022.

Dee was born Oct. 5, 1958, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Frances (Case) Irvine and Elmer Newsome. She attended Edison High School and met and married the love of her life, Carl Davis. Dee worked for Douthit Communications for 34 years and attended church at The Chapel in Port Clinton. Dee enjoyed gardening, reading, Harley rides with Carl, the beach, dancing, and her most prized possession, her family. Dee was larger than life and would give anything for those she loved. She cherished making special memories with her family and grandkids. She was the queen of planning birthday parties, anniversary, and beach trips, epic Christmas celebrations, bonfires, sleepovers, and fashion shows for the grandkids. She also enjoyed time at the racetrack and being outdoors and was always buying small things "just because." She made everyone she came in contact with feel special and loved.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Carl Davis; children, Jake (Chris) Davis of Lisbon, John (Melissa) Davis of Grafton, and Christina (Joe) Schelb of Indian Land, South Carolina; 12 grandkids, Katlyn (Josiah) Norman, Max (Jenna) Davis, Hannah and Lyvia Davis, Gage and Baylee Smith, Evan and Marin Davis, and Sienna and Aria Schelb; sister, Glema (Phil) King of Sandusky; brothers, Jonah (Ruby) Newsome of Phelan, California, Daniel Newsome of Sandusky, and Allen Newsome of Ironton; mother-in-law, Tina Davis of Castalia; and many brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Frances (Case) Irvine; sister, Erlena Medina; infant sister, Inez; grandparents, L.B. and Cynthia (Hunter) Case; and father-in-law, Carl Davis Sr.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of her life 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022, until time of the service at 2 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main Street, Norwalk. Burial will follow at Collins Cemetery.

Well, Dee, ya left us way too soon dear. We still had some unfinished partying to do. I just hit 70, I'm sure you know. Say hey to God for me and I'll be there when I get done atoning for my youthful transgressions. He's gonna make me stay down here til I'm past 100. Already made it clear twice that ,I'll die alone and unloved. But that surely can't happen cause I know you & Carl love me as a friend. Can't wait to see you again and that beautiful smile ya always have Carl misses you fiercely, as I'm positive you also know. He's been down to see me a couple times. Doesn't seem right , you not being along when he comes. I miss ya too dear. You and Carl became my best friends, when we were in Snorwalk. Bye, Dee, til we meet again!

Well Dee, it's been a year today since you left and I just don't get it. Why did God let us get so close as friends instead of just being cousins like we were supposed to be.. We still had stuff on our bucket list....

Delores Davis was a beautiful woman. I am her cousin and although we never knew each other since childhood there is a very special place in my heart for her as our family member. May she Rest In Peace. I wish we could have gotten to know one another better. As we love her brother, Daniel who we have come to know well over the years since he was only a teenager of 16 years old.
