Denis A. Cote', 81, of Sandusky, passed away Thursday morning, March 2, 2023, at The Meadows at Osborn Park, Huron, after a lengthy illness.

Denis was born Sept. 5, 1941, in Montreal, Canada, the son of Andre and Aurea (Allie) Cote'. Denis worked at Sandusky Ford Motor Company for several years and later owned and operated D.C. Filter, Sandusky, before retiring. He loved the water and over the years spending time on the lake boating and fishing off of his boat.

He was a member of Sandusky Rotary Club and Sandusky Elks Lodge.

Denis is survived by a son, Steve (Cindy) Cote' of Columbus; two grandchildren; sisters, Francine (Andre') Bourgane of Montreal, Canada, and Claire Cote' of St. Drummenville, Canada; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; former wife, Edith C. Bodi of Sandusky; stepchildren, Brian (Terri) Homegardner of Catawba Island, Craig (Tammi) Homegardner of Sandusky, and Judith Magers of Fremont; two stepgrandchildren, Whitney (Kevin) Davis and Morgan (Mikey) Hurd; and four stepgreat-grandchildren, Madison, Miles, Luke, and Laney.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Yvan and Eddy Cote'; and stepson, Brad Homegardner.

It was his wish to be cremated.

Denis' memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, with the Rev. Wally Gilbert officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or one's favorite charity.
