Dennis "Denny" Lauber, 69, residing in North Fairfield, passed away Monday afternoon, Aug. 19, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic after a lengthy illness.

He was born Dec. 27, 1954, in Sandusky, to Robert and Betty (Schweinfurth) Lauber.

Denny graduated from Perkins High School in 1972 and worked as a skilled machine repairman at KBI in Sandusky, retiring after a decade of dedicated service. A man of many interests, Denny found joy in hunting, target shooting, riding motorcycles, and beekeeping, where he took pride in harvesting his own honey. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends, creating lasting memories through the years.

Denny is survived by his wife, Vanessa (Boyd) Lauber, whom he married Feb. 25, 2017; son, Adam "Addie" Boyd of Norwalk; sisters, Linda (John) Eschels and Lisa (Gary) Gast of Sandusky; and nieces and nephews, Krista Kaczay, Erika Davies, Jessica Didion, Eric Gast, and Scott and Brandon Lauber.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, David Lauber, who passed away in 2021.

Private family memorial services will be conducted at a later date.

Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory will be assisting with arrangements.

I remember playing with you and your siblings along with my 6 brothers when we were kids. Your mom was one of the sweetest moms I knew. She often babysat for us to give my mom a break. God bless you and your family.
