Dennis Thomas Obituary

Dennis Rily Thomas

Feb 19, 1951 - Feb 25, 2024

Sandusky

Dennis R. Thomas, 73, of Sandusky, stopped breathing Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024.

He suffered a brain tumor that went unsuspected before he was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer, lung cancer, bowel cancer, and adrenal gland cancer that made him break his promise to never leave.

Dennis is survived by his wife and partner for the past 27 years, Patricia Sowders Frisbee Thomas; children, Dennis and Denise Thomas, Jessica Thomas, and their mother, Shelly Martin; stepchildren, Rachel and Cory Cantrell and Lauren and Todd Graham; 10 precious grandchildren that loved him dearly and will miss him; niece, Raylene (Steve) Bayer; and nephew, Steve (Deanna) Thomas.

Special thanks to Gabriel Frisbee for taking such good care of his grandfather, Lacey Faulkner for bringing him such happiness with her smiling face, and Theresa McCarty, a special granddaughter he had in his heart, calling her his bunnykins and never gave up on her, to the Moon and Back. Also thank you to Brooke, Alesha, and Phyllis from Stein Hospice and Rachel Frisbee and Raylene Bayer for their help and support.

Thank you to everyone that respected Dennis right to privacy. He chose no visitors except close family during his transition. He wanted to be remembered the way he was before cancer devastated his body. He did not want anyone to pity him or cry over him. He knew he was loved and that was enough.

At his request, there will be no services. He wanted to be cremated and scatter his remains in the place he loved most June 9, 2024, and to say thank you one last time.

He donated every year to Victory Kitchen and Erie County Dog Pound, so you may make a donation to them in his name if you wish.

I did not know Dennis but after reading his obituary, I was compelled to share how touched I am by the portrait painted by those who loved him. May we all be as kind, true blue, and loving as he surely was. The world is lesser without him.

I was a neighbor of Deny´s when we both lived on Wade Blvd . I remember him in our School Days at Perkins High School . He was very athletic. He was very good at Football and Baseball. He was a very good neighbor and a good friend. My Condolences to all Family Members.
