Dennis Wadsworth Obituary

It's with heavy hearts that we are announcing the passing of our beloved brother, Dennis Roger Wadsworth, age 77. (known to many as Wads). Residing in Sunset Beach, North Carolina.
Denny passed away peacefully Thursday, January 8, 2026, after losing his brief battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his high school sweetheart and wife of 53 yrs. Bonnie Nunamaker Wadsworth and son Daniel Wadsworth of Calabash, North Carolina.
Denny was born August 28, 1948, the son of Roger and Joyce (Sharpe) Wadsworth of Sandusky.
He was a 1966 graduate of Sandusky High School, then served four years in the US Navy.
Denny was employed and retired from Ford Motor Company in Sandusky.
Denny and his family resided in Milan until seven years ago, when he relocated to Sunset Beach.
Denny had a huge passion for bowling and was an avid bowler. He belonged to several bowling leagues throughout the area. If he wasn't bowling there, he was bowling on his tablet or watching it on TV. He also enjoyed playing golf and shooting pool and was a member of several leagues in the area. If you challenged him to a game of horseshoes, prepare yourself to lose because he was so good at that, too. Denny also loved playing cards, dice games, and, of course, the lottery.
He was preceded in death by our father, Roger Wadsworth, May 24, 1998; his older sister, Diane Wadsworth Roe, August 19, 1998; his mother, Joyce (Sharpe) Wadsworth, August 6, 2004; and nephew, James L. Roe, February 7, 2010.
He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; son, Daniel and his wife Shelly; two granddaughters, Allysa and Sienna Wadsworth; sister, Debby Wadsworth Schaefer (John) of Sandusky; a brother, David Wadsworth (Paula Thompson) of Wapakoneta; and a sister, Denise Wadsworth Griffaw (Duane) of Fremont; a brother-in-law, Larry E. Roe of Castalia; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Denny's wishes were to be cremated, no service or public celebration of life.

We thought of you today, but that is nothing new. We thought about you yesterday and the days before that, too. We think of you in silence; we often speak your name. All we have are our memories and your picture in our frames. Your memory is a keepsake for which we'll never part, for we will always hold you very dear, deep within our hearts.
