Dianna J. (Chappell) Haws, 79, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, December 22, 2025, at Parkvue Health Care Center, Sandusky, under the care of Stein Hospice.
Born January 12, 1946, in Ernest, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Clarence Huey and Nellie (Barney) Chappell. Dianna was a 1964 graduate of Marion Center Joint High School in Marion Center, Pennsylvania. She had worked as a caseworker for Erie County Job and Family Services for over 30 years before retiring.
Her family was very important, and she will be remembered by them for how she was a giver, having donated to several charities over the years. Dianna's favorite holiday was Christmas, and she loved decorating for the occasion and making her well-loved fudge for the family. She also, throughout the years, loved going to casinos, taking her chances on the games and playing the tickets, especially the Lottery! Dianna was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two sons, David (Melissa) Owens of Sandusky and Dan (Michele) Owens of Grafton; four grandchildren, Danielle (Matt) Daugherty, Justin Owens, Tyler (Elora) Owens and Jarret Owens; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Emilia; her siblings, Anne Ryan, Robert (Janet) Chappell, Nancy (Nelson) Hitchcock, Doris (Robert) Stadtmiller, and Donna Zometsky; and many nieces and nephews.
Dianna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years, George E. Haws, June 19, 2019; and three sisters and six brothers.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026, at David F. Koch Funeral and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, with Vonda Kubitz officiating. Burial will be at Perkins Cemetery, Sandusky.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contribu-tions may be made in her memory to Stein Hospice Service, Inc., 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
