Norwalk

Donna Jean (Wiedeman) Yontz, 84, of Norwalk, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, Oct. 30, 2022, peacefully at her home after a brief illness.

Donna was born Sept. 6, 1938, in Sandusky, the daughter of Carl and Severia (Palmison) Wiedeman. She was a 1956 graduate of Sandusky High School. After raising her family, Donna went on to work at Aramark for several years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sandusky, Sandusky Orioles Club Nest #279, and Norwalk Eagles AERIE #711.

She will be remembered by family and friends as a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who filled all those around her with love, compassion, and kindness. The family will always have fond memories of her passion for making holidays and celebrations so special. Donna loved cooking, baking, gardening, and spending time with all of her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Wayne A. Yontz, whom she married Aug. 18, 1956; four daughters, Sherry LaMarca (Scott), Brenda (Jack) Boone, Linda (Gregg) Heiden, and Susan (Brett) Droscha; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandson, Paxton.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Yontz on March 19, 2018; and a brother in infancy.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, until the time of Donna's funeral at 1 p.m. at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky. Deacon Carolyn Steinfeldt will be officiating. Burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.

The family asks that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870, or Cancer Services of Erie County, 505 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio, 44870.
