Duane E. Pool, born June 18, 1950, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his residence.

He was born and raised in Upper Sandusky and graduated from Upper Sandusky High School.

Duane was a devoted father and grandfather whose greatest joy was his family, especially his eight grandchildren. He was loving and adventurous, and he cherished the time spent creating memories with those he loved most.

He was a member of Erie County Conservation League and generously gave his time volunteering at league events.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance "Connie" (née Emch) Pool; his parents, Wayne Pool and Carolyn (née Ekleberry) Pool; and his brother, Glen Pool.

He is survived by his children, Nathan (Tracy) Pool, Joel (Ninunya) Pool, and Adriane (Vincent) DeFiore; his grandchildren, Madeline Pool, Benjamin Pool, Katelyn Pool, Leonardo Pool, Morrigan Pool, Giulianna DeFiore, Giovanni DeFiore, and Luciano DeFiore; his sister, Melinda Krider, and niece Jacinda; and is also lovingly remembered by Kathy Smetzer and her family.

The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2026, with a memorial service at 6 p.m. at Pfeil Funeral Home, Sandusky Chapel, 617 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Private family entombment will be Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made in Duane's memory to Erie County Conservation League, 815 Mason Road E., Milan, OH 44846 would be greatly appreciated.

Duane has been welcomed into eternal rest, reunited with those who went before him, and held in the promise of God's everlasting love.
