Earl B. White Sr., 82, Sandusky, passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026, at his residence after a brief illness.

Earl was born December 16, 1943, in Sandusky, to the late Earl F. and Wilda (Wahlers) White. After the death of his father, Wilda married Elmer Sommers, who helped raise Earl from an early age. Earl graduated from Sandusky High School in 1961. Earl was an outstanding athlete who excelled at baseball. He received an offer to play professional baseball with the Baltimore Orioles, but an injury prevented him from pursuing a career in baseball.

Earl was employed by the former New Departure Hyatt for 38 years, retiring in 2006. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, supporting the Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers. Earl enjoyed taking his family to sporting events when he was able to attend.

Earl was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Sandusky, as he was able to attend. When he was unable to participate in, he would listen to service on the radio. He enjoyed working, staying busy and in his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing. To Earl, his family was most important, and he enjoyed spending time with them.

He is survived by his sons, Earl B. (Anna DeLaRosa) White, Jr., Tiffin, Chadwick (Vicky) White and Nathan (Michele) White, both of Springfield, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl F. and Wilda; stepfather, Elmer Sommers; son, Ricky White; half sister, Marjorie White; half brothers, Terry Sommers and David White; and his special friend, Barbara Welch.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. untill time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026, from at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, with the Rev. Michael Conklin officiating. Burial will take place at Oakland Cemetery with no graveside service planned at this time.
