Sandusky
Edwin "Sonny" William Roll Jr., 90, of Sandusky, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, in his home.
He was born June 13, 1934 in Sandusky to Edwin, Sr. and Violet (Bryant) Roll.
Sonny graduated from Sandusky High School in 1953. He was a union laborer before working at Lower Lake Coal Docks, and used his skills to do odd jobs throughout his working career. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting cars and loving his dog and kitty cats.
Sonny is survived by his children, Bill (Margie) Roll, Barry (Marla) Roll, Cindy (David) Crawford, and Rick (Beverly) Roll; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and two great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Bonnie; and son, Sam Roll; and sister, June Rupp.
Private services will take place at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, Sandusky Chapel, 2001 Columbus Ave. Rev. Edgar Shelly presiding. Burial will follow at Perkins Cemetery.
Those wishing to contribute to Sonny's memory may do so to First Faith Community Church, Sandusky, or Humane Society of Erie County.
