Eleanor Kiss Obituary

Eleanor B. "Padge" Kiss

May 1, 1924 - Sep 14, 2024

Huron

Eleanor Blanche (Pagac) Kiss, 100, residing in Huron, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at The Meadows at Osborn Park.

She was born Eleanor Blanche Pagac on May 1, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, the only child of Christine and Paul Pagac.

Eleanor met and married Bill Kiss at University of Illinois. Bill started calling her PADGE because she never liked the name Eleanor Blanche! They moved to Grand Rapids where she taught piano lessons.

They moved to southern Ohio where she was active in PTA and then to Sandusky. She volunteered at The Merry Go Round Museum, Providence Hospital, and Meals On Wheels. Padge was a member of PEO, College Club and The Chapel. Playing golf, reading, gardening, and flower arranging were her hobbies. She was always quick to recommend a good book.

She held her Bible study group close to her heart and truly loved each member. After giving her life to Christ, The Chapel and her Bible Study played an important role in her spiritual growth. Padge loved old hymns, eating healthy foods, and traveling the world. The travel channel recently helped her revisit her favorite places.

Padge is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Jim) Galloway and Pamela (Dean) Janitzki; grandsons, Bill Galloway, Andrew (Kathryn), and Seth Janitzki; and great-grandchildren, George and Ella Janitzki.

She was preceded in death by her parents; steadfast husband, Bill Kiss; and beloved grandson, Jonathan S. Galloway.

Many thanks to all who cared and entertained her at The Meadows at Osborn Park. A special shout out to her special friends there (you know who you are)!

At her request, there will be a family-only celebration of a life well-lived.
