Emery E. Adams, 93, of Greenwich and formerly of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, at The Willows at Willard. He was born March 25, 1929, in Bellevue, the son of Samuel and Lola (Craft) Adams.
Emery served in U.S. Air Force from 1946-1949. During his enlistment, he was stationed in Korea and Japan. Following his discharge, he returned to Ohio and was employed by Nickel Plate Railroad for 10 years and Ford Motor Company for 32 years.
Emery is survived by his wife of 70 years, Vera S. (Champlin), whom he married Nov. 2, 1951, in Chinchilla, Pennsylvania; two children, Michael (Ann) Addams of Norwalk and Michelle (Ron) Risner of Greenwich; grandchildren, Jennifer (Andrew) Kilbride, Bryan (Shannon) Adams, Elisha (Jeff) Kirk, and Shawn Risner; and great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Emelia Kilbride, Nolan Adams, Lindsey and Dean Kirk, and Blake and Chloe Risner.
In addition to his parents, Emery was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters; and numerous stepbrothers and stepsisters.
Friends will be received 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, until Emery's funeral at 12 p.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 428 Kilbourne Street, Bellevue. Burial with military honors will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
