Esther L. (Blume) Braun, 96, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday evening, Sept. 30, 2022, at Providence Care Center.

Esther was born May 2, 1926, in Sandusky, to the late Henry R. and Fanny E. (Francis) Blume.

Esther retired from Kmart Corporation after 38 years of employment. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed children, family, and holidays, especially Christmas. Esther also enjoyed playing pinochle.

Esther is survived by her brother, Leon Blume of Shelby Township, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; close friend, Myra; awesome neighbors, Curtiss and Annie; and with many other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Braun in 2020, whom she had been married to for 74 years; sister, Henrietta Merrill; and brother, John H. Blume.

Esther's funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2022, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Pastor Philip Gardner will officiate. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
