Florence "Flossie" Brown, 98, of Bellevue, passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, at Fisher Titus Medical Center in Norwalk.
Flossie was born May 25, 1925, in Willard, the daughter of Joseph J. and Mary (Bischoff) Hahler.
Flossie enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards, and gardening. She was a member of the former St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bismark and current member of St. Gaspar del Bufalo. Flossie worked at Reedtown Tavern for over 30 years for four different owners, cooking breakfast, a job she especially enjoyed during hunting season. More than anything, Flossie loved her family and spending time with them any chance she could.
She married Bernard A. Brown in 1947 at St. Sebastian's Church and he preceded her in death in 1981.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Nancy) Brown of Monroeville, Wayne (Barb) Brown of Bellevue, Ron (Colette) Brown of Bellevue, and Melvin (Terry) Brown of Norwalk; daughters, Sue Scherley of Attica and Janet (Dan) Mills of Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Flossie was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Helen Haspeslagh, Ortrude Diehm, and Agnes Hahler; brothers, Robert Hahler, Richard Hahler, and Howard Hahler; and an infant grandson.
Visitation for friends will be 2-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2024, at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, where the Rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church, 16209 Co Rd 46, Bellevue, Ohio, 44811. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian's Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Southern Care Hospice as well as the Bismark Community Center for their exceptional care and hospitality.
