Floyd Kresser Obituary

Floyd "Butch" Kresser

Feb 24, 1944 - Nov 29, 2025

Sandusky

Floyd "Butch" Kresser, 81, residing in Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, November 29, 2025, at The Meadows at Osborn Park after a brief illness.

Butch was born February 24, 1944, in Sandusky, to the late Harry J. and Dorothy (Taylor) Kresser.

A 1963 graduate of Sandusky High School, Butch proudly served in the United States Army National Guard. He worked at the family-owned business, Elite Dry Cleaning, and later retired from Sandusky City Schools after twenty-five years as the head mechanic at the bus garage. Butch loved Lake Erie, fishing, going to Kelleys Island with family and friends, sprint car racing, and taking daily rides through downtown Sandusky. He especially enjoyed spending time with his nephews, family, and friends.

Butch is survived by his brother, Harry (June) Kresser of Sandusky; nephews, Troy "TJ" Kresser of Sandusky and Jason Kresser of Sandusky; as well as other relatives.

A Celebration of Life for Butch will take place at a later date at his favorite spot. The family has entrusted Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory with arrangements.

Those wishing to contribute to Butch's memory may do so to Erie County Humane Society, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
