She was born June 1, 1936, in Fremont, to Claren and Lucille Sausser. Fran grew up in Sandusky, graduating from Sandusky High School in 1954. She then attended BG Firelands while working as a commercial artist at American Crayon Company.
In Jan., 1957, she and Walter Johnson were married at Trinity United Methodist Church, Sandusky, and began a 66-year marriage. During that time, three years were spent in the Air Force in Texas and Northern Michigan, followed by 35 years as a homemaker and all-around mother while Walter worked as a store manager. Their journey lead them through three states and eight different moves, eventually settling in Cincinnati for 20 years. In 1990, they retired and moved back to the area with a house on Kelleys Island and residences in Huron and Florida.
Fran and Walter were very active in the community wherever they lived at the time. On Kelleys Island, Fran was active in the Historical Society and KI United Methodist Church. In Sandusky, she was an active volunteer at the Firelands Regional Medical Center gift shop and Huron United Methodist Church.
Frances is survived by her loving husband, Walter; daughters, Jody (Jim) Johnson of Cincinnati and Jill (Steve) Miller of Columbus; son, Jeff (Elizabeth) Johnson of Novi, Michigan; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and numerous nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and a brother.
