Gary R. Armstrong, 69, of Vickery, passed away suddenly Friday, Dec. 30, 2022.

He was born Sept. 29, 1953, in Camden, and grew up in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

Gary retired from Okamoto-Sandusky in 2019 where he worked as their Safety Engineer. He graduated from University of Dayton with an Industrial Engineering degree in 1976. Gary loved and cherished his family, music, guitar, piano, gardening, and his rescue dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Christie (Winningham); son, Evan and his wife, Marissa (Sehmann) of Traverse City, Michigan; mother, Gertrude Armstrong; siblings, Mike Armstrong, Karen Armstrong, and Dennis Armstrong; mother-in-law, Willowdean Winningham; sister-in-law, Shelly Gilbert; brother-in-law, Dave Gilbert; and his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sierra Rose; father, Earl Armstrong; and father-in-law, Carl Winningham.

Gary's memorial service will be 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Gary's ashes will later be spread in Traverse City, Michigan, where he always wanted to live.
