Gerald Winfield Berry, 87, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024, after a brief illness.

Gerald was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Ashland, Kentucky, to Forest H. Berry and Ethyl Irene (Pennington) Berry.

Gerald graduated from Fostoria High School in 1954. He was a veteran of U.S. Navy who proudly served as an Electrician's mate from 1954-1957. He was employed as a state patrol officer, started as Terminal Manager for U.S. Trucklines, and later retired as a Regional Manager. He was also a patrol officer for North Ridgeville Police Department. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. In his spare time, he enjoyed photography.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Mary Lee (Holloway) Berry, whom he married in 1958; sons, Shawn Renati (Betty Lou) Berry of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and Brian (Missy Conley) Berry of Columbus; and grandchildren, Sachi and Tristan.

Visitation for friends will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 2024, until the time of Gerald's memorial service at 11 a.m. at Meadow Green Funeral Home, 2602 Bogart Rd., Huron, Ohio, 44839.
