Glorianna Ruth (Karl) Detwiler, 69, of Sandusky, passed away Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, surrounded by family and friends at Parkview in Sandusky. Glorianna was born March 1, 1955 in Altoona, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Altoona Area High School in 1973 where she was an accomplished and decorated baton twirler.
Glorianna married Robert A. Detwiler at Greenwood United Methodist Church in Altoona July 4, 1976. She relocated to Sandusky in the late 1970s and soon started working with her husband as an independent distributor for the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Glorianna began working as a caseworker for Erie County Job and Family Services in 1998 while also delivering the Plain Dealer at night. She spent all of her retirement years in Sandusky except for one year with her sister and brother-in-law in Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania.
Glorianna is survived by her son, Robert R. (Sarah) Detwiler; and grandson, Andrew Detwiler of Maumee; sister, Trina Priester of Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania; niece, Anna Priester of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and numerous close friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Gloria (Brown) Karl; husband, Robert A. Detwiler; brother-in-law, David Priester; longtime companion,William Bretz; and other family relatives.
Friends may call from 4-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at New Beginnings Ministries at 4117 Campbell St. in Sandusky. Memorial services will begin at 5 p.m. with the Rev. Paul Smoot officiating.
