Herman Butch Below

Herman G. "Butch" Below, 81, of Clyde, died Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Norwalk Memorial Home.

Butch was born May 19, 1942, in Sandusky. He attended the former Thompson High School, receiving his GED after leaving high school for U.S. Army.

Butch was happy when he was busy! He liked to tinker and work on outside activities. Butch liked to go hunting with cousins and friends. But, his favorite times were spent with his wife and daughter!

He was an assembler at Ford until retirement. He married Mary J. Sampsel on Nov. 2, 1968.

Butch is survived by his wife; and sister, Linda (Richard) Bollenbacher of Bellevue.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley Sampsel; mother, Gertrude L. (Stockmaster) Snyder; and sister, Nancy Short.

Butch's memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde, with the Rev. Lori Strauss, his niece, officiating. A luncheon will follow at First United Methodist Church, Clyde, where memories can be shared.

Memorials may be made to Southern Care Hospice, Milan, or Back to the Wild Castalia.
